• There were 1,833 rapes reported during 2013.

• Rape accounted for 0.8 percent of the total Index offenses and 7.4 percent of violent crimes.

• July recorded the highest number with 178, while February recorded the lowest with 119.

• Of the total rapes reported, forcible rape accounted for 1,628 offenses and attempted rape accounted for 205 offenses.
